Last Monday in honor of Martin Luther King Day, our Make A Play team started off the day going to the Empire State Plaza Convention Center for a day of remembrance for the great Martin Luther King Jr. Following after, we headed over to Hackett Middle School awaiting to help teach kids about Dr. King. When the kids arrived, they were given Make A Play T-Shirts with the hashtag "#DoSomethingGood". Seeing our youth enjoy themselves and learning about Martin Luther King felt inspiring.
Once the activities and basketball ended, all of the children received special goodie bags that contained KIND bars, Nth Degree beverages and treats, while the parents and guests enjoyed sparkling ONLI Beverages. The children also received raffle tickets for a chance to win fresh New Era hats, leather belts from the giving folks of Mission Belts , and fun DIY Dino Kits from Makers Kit. Everyone seemed to have an amazing time and loved all the treats and prizes the sponsors provided.
Martin Luther King changed the world with his hard work and sacrifice to make this world better. We believe everyone should try to emulate his message; his message of nonviolence can be applied much more than just the civil rights movement. The event was just one example of Dr. King's legacy left here for us to continue and move forward.
A huge thanks to all our sponsors for allowing this important day to happen and for helping us share and spread this special movement. #DoSomethingGood
