“Dribble and shift…. Dribble and shift”! Those are the words you will hear echoing from the gym of P.S. 145, in the Upper West Side of Manhattan every Sunday till June 1st. This past Easter Sunday, we took a break from our Skill Builder Basketball Clinics, which began on March 30th. But we will be back in action on the 27th, to dribble and shift, work up a sweat, and continue to teach our kids skill-building assets of basketball.
The past 3 weeks have been a blessing for Make A Play, as we’ve been supported by amazing sponsors such as Team Snap. The Team Snap application offers the easiest way to manage any type of group as well as a recreational clubs, leagues or sports teams, such as Make A Play. It's a snap to keep your schedule, manage your roster or members, see who's available for events and games, track payments, messages and more! And because of Team Snap’s support, we are able to join Spring basketball tournaments taking place at House of Sports and SUNY Purchase this coming May. Be on the lookout for updates on our up-coming games!
Our clinics will continue to establish comprehensive academic and athletic skills for our youth, building confidence, determination, and fuel for the mind. We wouldn’t be able to accomplish such a successful program without the help of our friends, family, and sponsors like Nth Degree, SLAM Magazine, Oatworks, Detour Bar, Sports Authority, 24 Hour Fitness, Pirates Booty, and Hybrid Light. We can’t thank you all enough for the unending support, and especially for the hard-work, perseverance and sweat our staff has put into the clinics: Coach Rafael, Coach Ariel, Coach Joel, Coach Xavier, Coach Reggie, Coach Danny, Coach Rande, and even Coach Sean and his team from the Make A Play Albany chapter.
As we head into our next couple of sessions, nothing makes the Make A Play crew happier than to see our kids dribbling down the court with ambition and dreams…. because when we learn to play, we learn to live. Pun intended.
